History

Milk New Zealand Dairy Limited was first registered in 2012, when its owner purchased 16 dairy farms in the North Island of New Zealand. The number of farms increased with the additional purchase of 13 South Island farms.

In 2013 an agreement was negotiated with a NZ dairy company, who built a UHT milk factory beside their existing Milk Powder drying plant and exclusively supplied THELAND UHT milk products for several years.

The THELAND trademark was also registered in 2013 and the export of UHT milk products to China commenced late in 2014, increasing rapidly in 2015.

The THELAND brand has clearly focused on supplying healthy, high quality, high protein, long shelf-life milk products into the China retail market. The main product lines are single serve 250ml UHT Tetrapak packs.

This has been followed by a range of THELAND Milk Powder retail products, and additional milk products from Australia.

Exports rose to over 3000 containers annually within a few years.

During the first few years of growth. MNZD won several export awards, and in 2018 launched its products at the inaugural China International Import Expo.

THELAND has been represented at the CIIE every year since, and this continues to be the companies major marketing focus for the China market.

For several years, THELAND has been the No.1 imported dairy brand into the China retail market supplying high quality, high value products to Chinese consumers.
